It’s almost impossible to stand beside these falls and not be drawn into the water as it falls over the edge. It’s got a pull that feels so real. It’s just as well there are barriers up!
I was lucky enough to view these falls from both the American and Canadian sides, as well as get up close (and almost under them!) on the Maid of the Mist boat trip.
A truly awesome experience, one of nature’s finest. It’s difficult to describe the shear volume of water cascading down in front of you. It’s immense.
We also went down-stream to have a look at the whirlpool, which is an amazing colour blue, but did not take the cable-car that crosses over it – I don’t think any of us felt brave enough at the time!

Wow, these are great pictures!
Wonderful! I really love Waterfalls & Rainbow. Do you have more photos? I wanna see more Niagara Falls. I can imagine how amazing to be there. Hope someday I’ll be there. You should try to see Ujung Genteng and Karimunjawa Island on my blog, and tell me what you see. And you should put Indonesia to your travelling list too
Thanks for sharing by the way
Hi Jairo – I’m sure that I do have more waterfalls and rainbows in amongst all the photos that I have yet to post… can’t remember where from exactly – but I will get around to sorting them out. Promise!
Indonesia is most certainly on my travel plan list.. I really want to visit Anuk Krakatoa – another Geologist pilgrimage destination! I’ll check out your blog to see where else I need to visit! Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful!
Is the one at night at the American falls from 1994?
Hi Ricardo – ALL these photos were taken during the same vacation in September 1994. I’ve never been since then – do they still light up the falls at night??
