Anigozanthos manglessi

More weird and wonderful plants; the Kangaroo Paw is native to the south-western corner of Western Australia and is, in fact, the floral emblem for the state.

This one is in the early stages of flowering, so it doesn’t yet truly resemble a kangaroo’s paw.  Luckily for me there were plenty of these plants in slightly different aspects around King’s Park, so one or two were blooming on the same day that these were merely budding.
